Nintendo continues to struggle despite a slow start. Updated 11 June.
Nintendo have begun preliminary talks with developers about the successor to GameCube (IGNcube). The studios have been tols to prepare for a "spring 2005" release. "In an interview with IGNcube, Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs Perrin Kaplan stated that the company would come to market at the same time or perhaps even before its rivals."
GCN Successor Takes Shape
In an interview, in January 2003, with Reuters Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata claims a successor to the GameCube will be introduced in 2005. This time Nintendo is set not to fall behind Sony in the launch process, as they did when Sony introduced the PlayStation 2 almost 18 months before Nintendo managed to get their own GameCube system out.
