Smaller and better than predecessors.
On February 14th Nintendo launched its new handheld video game system titled Game Boy Advance SP (GBA SP) in Japan. During the first week the entire stock of 114,000 units sold out. On March 23rd GBA SP was launched in the U.S. Presently, Nintendo has sold 1.1 million units in the U.S. Totally in the world we estimate that Nintendo has sold well above 2 million GBA SP.

Game Boy Advance SP is a compatible upgrade of Game Boy Advance. It is very small. Some of the features include a better Front Light Screen that provides better gameplay under difficult lighting conditions. The rechargeable battery (lithium-ion) delivers about 10 hours of gameplay.
Game Boy Advance SP is compatible with virtually all 1,300 GBA-titles. This includes the Game Boy Advance-specific library that will increase to more than 500 by year-end. In addition, a growing number of key software titles link play between Game Boy Advance and Nintendo GameCube.
