Sharman Networks forces download sites to stop download of competitors to KaZaA.
Sharman Networks, the owner of KaZaA Media Desktop (KMD), has ordered download sites to stop download of Kazaalite. This was commented by the developers of Kazaalite in the following way:
"As you might have noticed K lite K++ is no longer available on this website. I advice you to try out the alternative programs that can now be found on this website. They are much better as any FastTrack client. If you do want to get K Lite K++ then there are plenty of places on the Internet where you can get it. Remember that the program is 100% free. Never pay for it or any other file sharing program."
In the beginning of september Sharman ordered Google.com to stop listing competitors related to KMD.
According to Sharman Networks: Utilizing the search query, "kazaa," at www.google.com, the following search results (the "Infringing Material") contain unauthorized copies of the KMD or unauthorized derivative works of the KMD which infringe the KMD and the exclusive rights of the Owner:
Google has responded in the following way: "In response to a complaint we received under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 8 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint for these removed results."
